Literacy Program

Volunteers serve at the book booth at last years event

What We Provide
Through our Literacy Program, we aim to spark a lifelong love of reading by providing free books to children of all ages in the Greater Augusta area. Books are selected to be age-appropriate, culturally relevant, and engaging for readers at all levels. We distribute:

  • Picture books for young children

  • Chapter books for early readers

  • Middle grade and young adult novels

  • Bilingual and inclusive titles

In addition to book giveaways, we often include reading tips, bookmarks, and activity sheets to encourage literacy at home.

Who We Serve
We serve children from elementary through high school in the Greater Augusta area. We partner with local schools, libraries, early childhood centers, and community organizations to identify children who would benefit from additional literacy support and access to books.

How to Receive Books
Books are distributed at various events throughout the year, including our summer backpack giveaway, school visits, and pop-up literacy fairs. Families do not need to pre-register unless noted in the event details. Follow our Events page or social media for upcoming opportunities.
